Students Represent Stebbins at NSHC Board Meeting
Each year the Norton Sound Health Corporation invites two (2) students from one of their representative villages to attend a portion of their annual board meeting.
This September senior Mary Andrews-Kirk and junior Allison Pete represented Stebbins at the board meeting. The girls were asked to write a response to the following questions and share their reports with the board members:
- NSHC is interested in learning what we could do better or different to engage or interest our youth to pursue health careers.
- What do you think NSHC could do better or different either in your own community or entire region to improve health care?
Mary and Allison did a great job gathering their ideas together and then presenting them at the board meeting. What a great experience to be the voice for youth at such a large, important gathering.
