Students Represent Stebbins at NSHC Board Meeting

Each year the Norton Sound Health Corporation invites two (2) students from one of their representative villages to attend a portion of their annual board meeting.

This September senior Mary Andrews-Kirk and junior Allison Pete represented Stebbins at the board meeting. The girls were asked to write a response to the following questions and share their reports with the board members:

  1. NSHC is interested in learning what we could do better or different to engage or interest our youth to pursue health careers.
  2. What do you think NSHC could do better or different either in your own community or entire region to improve health care?

Mary and Allison did a great job gathering their ideas together and then presenting them at the board meeting. What a great experience to be the voice for youth at such a large, important gathering.
