Hello My Name Is...

Christine Foster

Ms Foster

I originally hail from Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, located in the Upper Peninsula on the border of Canada. I can reach Canada in 10 minutes, depending on the traffic on the International Bridge. I am a proud Yooper!!!  I have one son, 29 years old, who lives in Sault Ste. Marie and works as a custodian. I have two beautiful grandsons, Isaac, 8 and Jayden, 6. I have a beautiful grand-daughter, Zoey, who will be 3 in October.

I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Over the years, I have earned an endorsement in Early Childhood (ZA) and Special education (LD). In 2009, I earned a Masters Degree in administration. I served as a medic in the Army from 1986-1991 and was able to participate in a reforger exercise in Germany during the months of September and October of 1987. I was a member of the 21st Evacuation Hospital, which is a MASH unit.

I love to walk outdoors and enjoy the beauty of nature. I enjoy Native dance, reading, cooking, traveling, movies, and get-togethers with friends. I have worked for BSSD for 6 years: two years in Gambell, and I’m starting my 4th year in Stebbins. I love living in western Alaska, especially in Stebbins!!
