The Stebbins Middle School basketball team has emerged victorious in their final game of a grueling five-game tournament in Shishmaref. The team's hard work and dedication paid off as they battled it out on the court, displaying impressive skills and teamwork that ultimately led them to a 68-11 victory against the Wales Seawolves. The players and coaches were ecstatic after the game. "This is what all the hard work was for," said Coach Dustin Johnson, who took over for Coach Bjorn Paje, who had a prior commitment. "These kids have put in countless hours of practice, and it's great to see them win one in a tough tournament."
8th grader Evyn Pete was also selected to the all-tournament team.
It is sure to be a treasured memory for the players and coaches involved. It is also an inspiration to other young athletes in the community, who may be inspired to take up the sport and follow in the footsteps of these talented players.
